Reading Writing and Baseball

A good hobby is worth its weight in gold. Living in the midst of stress in a troubled world often needs a good lift. A good hobby may help that remedy.

Are you a Chicago Cub fan? I hope so because baseball is a good diversional activity.

I'm a baseball fan. Been a diehard Chicago Cub fan through most of my life. Now I divide my attention between the Cubs and St Louis Cardinals.

On any given day when I have nothing better to do, I'd take my tennis ball, go into my backyard, and throw my tennis ball against the garage wall. Thereafter my imagination went wild. Catcher, pitcher, outfielder, I could be anybody I wanted to be and it was fun.

Later in my life I developed an interest in reading. My favorite was John Grisham, I read all his books, and couldn't wait till the next one came out. Books put us in a different world. What are you reading?

Variety is the spice of life so it didn't take long to pick up on other subjects. Books expanded my thought process' and put me in another world.

When I got interested in watching "The Waltons" on TV, about a family whom struggled on the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, I got inspired to write. I never thought at the time that my hobbies would lead to three baseball stories now available on Amazon.

What do you do with your spare time? Do you have a hobby? I hope so and who knows, as time moves on it may lead you to new and exciting things.
