The Shortage

Baseball in July and no fans. Wow! The fun of watching a baseball game with fans and eating hot dogs with soda pop is gone. What fun is that? Another shortage in baseball.

When Johnny returned his plate to the sink he was suddenly interrupted by his mother. "Take your breakfast back to the table. Your not done yet."
"I'm done. These scrambled eggs are terrible."

Mom was mad. "Think of all the starving children in the world."

The boy heard this same story many times before. There are enough shortages to go around for everybody.

Recently the quarantine due to the covid-19 virus has everybody staying at home. Thus the privilege to mingle through the neighborhood is limited. Getting groceries and other essentials is still permitted. We even use a sanitizer to clean grocery carts after they have been used.

Food is also in short supply. Shelves are empty in most stores. Remember the rush to get toilet paper? We mush learn to do without or improvise.

What about church? For the moment there are no large church gatherings. The Distance Rule says people must be at least six feet apart. The wires on the Internet are hot.

Lots of things we often take for granted are gone. It reminds me of the day many years ago I couldn't get a baseball glove. During the Second World War they just weren't making right-handed gloves for Southpaws. Watching my friends play baseball wasn't any fun. Some people get all the breaks.

We must learn to cope and do what we have to do. There will be better days.

We like to see baseball fans happy. Since our blog and newsletter are FREE we are in need of some financial assistance. With your gift we'd like you to have an Ernie Banks poster with a quote and our compliments. Just click the donate button. Thank you.
